Operations Manager

My name is Phillipa and I am the Operations Manager for the Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries in Cambridge!

I am a parent of two beautiful children. Evie and Hugo were born during lockdown and are a constant reminder of why I love children.

I started my career in childcare 19 years ago and found my passion for Early years. The Early Years Sector is so rewarding as you get to help shape children’s lives from an early age. The bonds you create with children and the sense of pride you feel when they achieve a goal is something that you treasure forever. Hearing children laugh and sing as they learn is the most rewarding aspect of the role. I progressed within childcare by being promoted over the years to Room leader and onto Nursery Manager. I have always been interested in the way in which children learn and consistently reflected on practise to enhance all areas of the nursery. I have also had many years experience of one to one support in which I developed a deep understanding and love for children with additional needs.

I adore seeing children develop into confident and independent learners through quality interactions.

Through my management experience I gained the knowledge and technical skills to oversee the quality of all aspects and the ability to ensure the smooth running of the nursery to a high standard. Monkey Puzzle support me to progress within my career by offering additional training and acknowledged my personal growth over the years by promoting me to Operations Manager.

My next step is to complete my Level 5 in Operations Management which is supported by Monkey Puzzle.
