How To Find Monkey Puzzle Marleigh
Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Marleigh, is proudly located in the heart of Cambridge in the CB5 postal sector. The nursery is in Jubilee Square, just off Marleigh Avenue and behind the Newmarket Road Park & Ride. As well as the park and ride being a short walk away, the A1303 and A14 are just a quick drive away too. This makes us well located for serving families in the city of Cambridge.
Opening times: 7:30am to 6:30pm
Monday to Friday for 51 weeks per year, (closed for the week between
Christmas and New Year)
🐺🐷The Three Little Pigs 🐷🐺
Last week, the children centred their activities around 'The Three Little Pigs'. They created their own pig habitats and built houses, then attempted to blow them down. Additionally, they crafted pig masks, discussed the diets and habitats of pigs and wolves, and explored different textures through various sensory trays. There were plenty of muddy activities and opportunities to wash the pigs. The preschool room did a 'save the pigs' activity and they concentrated on the 'p' sound. 📚💨🏚️

✏️📚What does school readiness mean?✏️📚
At Marleigh, we place a strong emphasis on school readiness within our daily routines and our activities. Children independently wash their hands before serving themselves meals, and once they have finished, they scrape any leftover food into buckets. The toddler and preschool children are taught the "coat trick" and encouraged to have a go at dressing themselves. 🍽️🧴
The preschool room learn phonics and what comes before reading through play and adult-led activities giving them the best start at the transition to reception. ✏️
Throughout the setting we ensure the children practise their fine motor skills daily to support pre-writing skills using various tools in their day to day routines such as play dough, various mark making tools, chop sticks etc. ✍️🥢
However, before a child can begin reading and writing, they must first acquire various essential skills. They need to be physically, emotionally, and mentally prepared. This holistic development is our primary focus. ❤️
Our children learn in thoughtfully arranged environments, through play, and by exploring their individual learning styles.
When they leave our setting they are confident, physically capable, resilient, and equipped with problem-solving skills honed through trial and error. Our children are happy and self-assured learners, embodying the thinkers and doers of tomorrow. 💙
