Deputy Manager

Hi, my name is Caitlin and completed my level 3 qualification and started full-time working at Monkey Puzzle Marleigh. Previous to this, I worked at Monkey Puzzle Grange Rd for a year completing placement hours whilst attending college. Since being one of the eldest in my family, I always enjoyed spending time with younger family members and creating different activities for us to do which led me to being interested in childcare as a career.

During my experience with Monkey Puzzle, I have learnt new skills which has implemented my practice, developed positive, secure attachments with children as well as working with wonderful, supportive teams of Early Years Educators. I enjoy supporting children to learn through a mixture of child-led and adult-initiated activities which meets the individual interests and developing needs of children. I work closely with colleagues to ensure that activities are set up each day. This ensures a well-planned, stimulating and enabling environment. I started as a Nursery Assistant then promoted to Tweenies Room Leader and I am now a Deputy Manager.

I am particularly interested in observing children and their schemas of learning, school readiness and safeguarding children. My next goal is to undergo more training relating to phonics.
