Last Thursday, the children marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day, with each room celebrating in a different way.

The preschool children enjoyed a trip in groups of four to Marleigh Square, where a celebration was taking place at the community centre. There was complimentary food and drinks, colouring flags and a flag hunt with a live band playing. Upon their return to the setting, some children excitedly exclaimed, “We went to a party, and it was great!” and spoke about the instruments being “so shiny”.

While they were in the square, they also took the opportunity to admire the flowers.

In the baby room, the toddlers engaged in red, white, and blue painting in the garden to commemorate the occasion, while the toddler room explored an oat tray decorated in the same colours and had fun pretending to host an oat tea party.
