This week, the children have been exploring ‘life cycles’, which has ignited their curiosity about bees and the honey-making process.

To build on their fascination with bees, the children made honey flapjacks this morning after reading a story about a bear who is a beekeeper. The pre-schoolers contributed by measuring the ingredients, using their number recognition skills, and took turns mixing and pouring the ingredients. While doing so, they shared their own baking experiences from home with one another.

The children discussed needing an adult to put the flapjacks in the oven and how to stay safe whilst baking or cooking. The children will enjoy the flapjacks for pudding after their tea.
