How To Find Monkey Puzzle Marleigh
Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Marleigh, is proudly located in the heart of Cambridge in the CB5 postal sector. The nursery is in Jubilee Square, just off Marleigh Avenue and behind the Newmarket Road Park & Ride. As well as the park and ride being a short walk away, the A1303 and A14 are just a quick drive away too. This makes us well located for serving families in the city of Cambridge.
Opening times: 7:30am to 6:30pm
Monday to Friday for 51 weeks per year, (closed for the week between
Christmas and New Year)
Benefits of Painting
Painting is not only about adding attractive colours to paper; it serves as an excellent means for developing fine motor skills and encourages children to use their imagination skills.
Through painting, children can express their emotions and explore their ideas by using various tools and experimenting with colour mixing, which also provides them with new sensory experiences. Additionally, painting can be a calming, slow paced activity that contributes positively to their well-being.
Painting can support the development of the children's language skills, as they describe their strokes and the textures of the paints and tools they use. This process fosters meaningful conversations and encourages social interactions among peers.

🥗👩⚕️Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds 👩⚕️🥗
Last week, the children engaged in the theme of 'healthy bodies, healthy minds'. They explored all of their senses and participated in exercises, observing the effects these activities have on their bodies. For instance, one child remarked, "When I run faster, I get hot." 🏃
The children created their own potions using various scents and textures, enhancing their vocabulary with descriptive words. They crafted calming play dough and took part in yoga sessions. 👃🏻🧘♀️
Additionally, they discussed personal hygiene, learning the importance of washing hands and brushing teeth. This knowledge was further applied through interactive play, where they washed baby dolls and took on the roles of doctors, caring for them. The children talked about healthy eating and tried some fruit salads which they helped prepare for snack. 🍉🍌
The preschool children looked at emotions and used colours to represent their feelings and painted how they felt. Whilst doing this, they looked at colour mixing to create their own shades. One child says "red is cross" and "green means happy". 🎨
